What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy combines an understanding of how the mind works with the use of hypnosis to communicate with the unconscious functions of the mind. Working together, we can send to your unconscious mind the messages which will enable you to achieve the changes you want to make in and for yourself.

Hypnosis is simply well-managed access to a deeply relaxed and relaxing state of mind that is often experienced in daily life.

Hypnotherapy is therefore uniquely placed to help with psychological problems which the sufferer cannot fully understand and with unwelcome behaviours which cannot be rationally controlled, eg being unable to stop smoking despite wanting to give up, unpredictable mood swings, depression or irrational fear of a specific object or experience (phobia). Many clients simply feel "stuck" in their life and want help to find their way forward. Hypnotherapy can help where willpower alone cannot succeed. A list of some more of the problems to which hypnotherapy is often successfully applied is given in the Services section.

In hypnotherapy, you will come to understand how excessive anxiety plays a key role in almost all of the psychological problems we encounter in life. And you will learn how to manage and reduce your anxieties.
